Is a new concept, not sure how will work, but i design it this way in order to keep the size down (30 x 30 mm) to attach it to a compact and cheap servo bracket with 9g micro servos.
Will come in 2 “flavours”: LPC1768 and LPC4330 (using LPC1810 in the above picture). This will add enough memory to handle more colours, more blobs, colour codes and basic shape detection.

Hello Have you ever though in a stereo module with two cams and a power enough procesos in order to get 3D images as a Kinect.

Hi Francisco, yes, there was a first attempt here. There were few issues with the initial design (used P2_10 as data pin, etc). I was able to get both cameras working, but had no time to get further than that. Got some 1″ colour LCD displays to build “3D glasses” but I was too busy to follow up.
I was not as much interested in a “3D image” solution as much as building a tracking solution that will be able to do tracking and also measure the distance to the object I was tracking using some logical operators. I may continue working on that solution once I get the LPC4330 version up and running. I am still planning to use a FIFO solution and take advantage of the extended RAM and the extra MCU speed and the extra core.
Hi, i’m very interested in the new designed board – esp. in the possibilities of tracking multiple color blobs. Do you produce this board already or is it really in a prototype state – it looks so “well done”? ;-)
My intention in this board is a modular robot and esp. for vision/tracking a dedicated object recognition – like you did with this and previously built boards. Maybe we can get in contact for details of your board? In case of a prototype, it would be fun to play around with it, trying to optimize things and maybe give some ideas for more generic use of this item.
regards,
jan
Hi Jan, thank you! I got the old code running on those new boards, however, i had no time to work much on this project. Is still a prototype, but looks promising.
I am lately experimenting with jpeg cameras and uSD support as seems to be a lot of interest on this. I am also trying to optimize the code on the older boards due to memory constrains.
Will probably continue working on those new boards the following months.
